Whitehead Library

Project Description

The library’s refurbishment cost £365,000 and, as a brighter and more spacious library has reopened its doors to the population of the area. This work included an extension to the library building, as well as new shelving, carpet and repainting of the library, resulting in a much improved Whitehead Library, which has been offering library and information services to people in the area since it first opened its doors 50 years ago.

Other library improvements include innovative folding doors, which mean the new extension can be hired out as a meetings room by local businesses or community groups and the installation of a public toilet, automatic doors, shelving, carpet and repainting, create a bright and welcoming feeling throughout Whitehead Library.
